Keane Brothers’ Christmas Time Concert

The Keane brothers (Citizens Keane ) from Caherlistrane, Matt, Sean, Noel, and Pat, will play the Claregalway Hotel on Friday January 3, in what has become an annual event.

This is the sixth consecutive Christmas concert at the Claregalway venue, and has become one of the rare occasions when the brothers perform together. Sean Keane is taking a night off from his winter Irish tour, ‘Christmas by the Hearth’ promoting his new CD collection Never Alone, to join the family for this special event.

Orlaith Keane, who has proved to be a great favourite with audiences at the Claregalway hotel, will also be performing on the night. Special guests will be The Pick & Shuffle Mando band. This is a new venture from Finbarr and Colm Naughton and Tony Campbell which showcases the mandolin and its lesser known cousins, the mandola and mandocello. The group’s focus is on traditional material but the emphasis is on newly developed arrangements for the instruments.

The brothers will be joined by a fabulous line up of talented musicians including Pat Coyne on guitars and backing vocals, Colm Naughton on banjo, mandolin, guitar, and backing vocals, and local girl Catherine McHugh on keyboards, who has become an Irish champion on her instrument at this year’s All-Ireland Fleadh Ceoil.

These concerts always prove a real treat and make ideal Christmas gifts, so spoil yourself or someone close to you to an evening of music, song, and craic at The Claregalway Hotel in the company of one of Ireland’s foremost musical families, on the January 3.

Doors open on the night at 8pm, while the concert starts at 9pm. Tickets are available for €20 from the Claregalway Hotel on (091 ) 738300; Daybreak Supermarket in Knockdoe; Quinn’s Shop on Bishop Street in Tuam; Con’s Checkout in Caherlistrane; and at Queally’s Bar in Caherlistrane.
