Civic and religious leaders gather for silver anniversary Christmas Messages radio programme

Galway’s civic and religious leaders will be delivering their Christmas messages on Galway Bay fm on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The 25th annual Christmas Messages programme will be broadcast at 6.04pm on Christmas Eve and 1.04pm on Christmas Day and will feature music from Galway Parkinsons Association's Christmas CD.

This special 45-minute programme is presented for the 25th consecutive year by Head of News Bernadette Prendergast, and her guests will be Mayor of Galway Padraig Conneely; Mayor of County Galway Liam Carroll; Bishop of Galway, Dr Martin Drennan; Church of Ireland Rector of Galway and Archdeacon of Tuam, Rev Gary Hastings, and Presbyterian and Methodist community representative Helen Freeburn.

The programme, which is now an integral part of Christmas in Galway, will take a look back at 2013, will reflect on Christmas past and present in Galway and to mark its silver anniversary will remember all who have taken part over the last 25 years.
