Charity concert for the Philippines

A CHARITY concert to raise funds to help rebuild lives and communities devastated by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, takes place tonight.

This music and comedy event takes place in Monroe’s Backstage Bar. Tthe line-up is James Gallagher & The Atlantic Pirates, The Oldtown Rounders, Mike Faherty, Bam, and special guests. The MC will be Paul David Murphy of Irish overseas development organisation Serve.

The money raised on the night will go directly to fund Serve’s work in the disaster areas of The Philippines. Serve has worked in partnership with the Redemptorists in The Philippines since 2003. At one point almost 3,000 were taking shelter at the Redemptorist church in Tacloban, an area badly affected by the recent typhoon.
