Dott - two gigs for Christmas

DOTT, THE Galway Advertiser’s ‘Galway Band of the Year 2013’, play two gigs over the Christmas period.

Dott, led by vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Anna McCarthy, have enjoyed a great year which saw the release of their wonderful debut album Swoon in November; glowing reviews for their garage-rock/indie pop/vocal harmony driven songs in the press and on-line; the announcement they will play SXSW in Texas; and being the No 1 mp3 download on Insound.

To round it all off, Dott will headline the Galway Bands BYOB Christmas party in the Nuns Island Theatre this Saturday at 7pm. Also on the bill are Tuam pop-punk band Oh Boland; Brian Kelly (leader of So Cow ); the magnificent Boyfights; and post-rock duo It Was All A Bit Black & White.

Admission is €6. Those coming are asked to “bring your own, beer/mulled wine, wear something Christmassy and come dance your woolly socks off”. The gig is over 18s.

Dott will also play a free show in the Róisín Dubh on St Stephen’s Day (Thursday December 26 ) at 8pm.
