Portumna's Joe Canning has been announced as the Galway Senior Hurling captain for 2014.
Canning is no stranger to the captaincy role, and he is a former Galway minor (2006 ) and u-21 captain (2009 ).
The three-times All-Star, who turned 25 in October, will have a busy early start to the season as Portumna will face Na Piarsaigh (Limerick ) in the All-Ireland Club semi-final in February.
St Thomas' midfielder David Burke will be the vice-captain.
