Rap and alien pop

NANU NANU, the ‘alien pop’ duo, and US West Coast rapper Steve Liriks, take to the stage of Monroe’s Live tomorrow from 10pm.

Nanu Nanu’s Mirrorman (Marc Aubele ) and Glitterface (Laura Sheeran ), use synths and live drums to create an other-worldly sound that is perhaps best summarised as a potent blend of Portishead, Nine Inch Nails, and Depeche Mode. Their debut album Unit 1 has garnered considerable critical acclaim.

The Monroe’s show is among Californian rhyme merchant Steve Liriks’ first outside the USA. In 2011 he was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award for Best LA Breakout Artist. He recently collaborated on the track ‘Designer Shoes’ with Nanu Nanu.

Admission is €5 on the door before 11.30pm and €10 after.
