Stay golden with ASIWYFA

AND SO I Watch You From Afar, the ground-breaking Antrim post-rock quartet will curate two nights of music at the Róisín Dubh.

The Stay Golden Nights take place on Thursday December 19 and Friday 20 at 8pm with ASIWYFA headlining, and a different support bill each night.

The night is a culmination of what has been a great year for the Ulstermen, which began with the release of their third, and arguably finest and most ambitious, album to date, All Hail Bright Futures.

The band have enjoyed great critical acclaim and their first two albums, And So I Watch You From Afar and Gangs, were both nominated for the Choice Music Prize.

All Hail Bright Futures showed the band at their most imaginative. Pushing past the restrictive boundaries of post-rock, the quartet embrace Brian May style guitar workouts (‘Big Thinks Do Remarkable’ ), duelling metal guitars (the thrilling ‘Like A Mouse’ ), Terry Reilly styled vocal manoeuvres (‘Ka Ba Ta Bo Da Ka’ ), and Irish trad (‘Mend And Make Safe’ ), creating a breathtaking work of imagination and joy.

Thursday’s bill is Tvvins and Zenon Field; Friday’s line-up features Simon Bird and the brilliant Galway post-rock duo It Was All A Bit Black & White.

Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
