IN a small village in 1940s Ireland, before most homes had electricity, there is an air of expectation. Santa Claus is on his way and it is almost Christmas Day.
This is Twas The Night Before Christmas, which will be staged by children’s theatre company, Branar Téatar do Pháistí in at An Taibhdhearc, on Friday December 20 at 7pm, Saturday 21 at 1pm and 4pm, and Sunday 22 at 1pm and 4pm.
Created and directed by Branar’s artistic director Marc MacLochlainn, it is based on the much loved poem ‘A Visit From St Nicholas’ by Clement Clarke Moore, which begins: “Twas the night before Christmas, when all thro’ the house/Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.”
The show will feature Branar’s highly physical acting, song, storytelling, live music, and puppetry to provide a joyful journey through the most magical night of year.
The show is aimed at children aged five and over. To book contact An Taibhdhearc (091 - 562024 or www.antaibhdhearc.com ). See www.Branar.ie
