Castlegar people’s views sought for new area plan

People in Castlegar are being asked to contribute to a plan which seeks to reinforce the identity of the area and protect and enhance its character and amenities.

The Galway City Council is about to commence preparation of a plan for the Castlegar area which will examine issues of traffic, walking, cycling, heritage, community facilities, and local services.

As part of this, a short questionnaire is being circulated this week to households in the area. All residents are invited to take part. Completed questionnaires can be dropped off at Castlegar national school, Castlegar church, Murphy’s Centra, Tesco Express, or City Hall, College Road, by Monday December 16. Questionnaires can be completed online at www.galwaycity.ie There will be a Castlegar Area Plan Public Information Session on Tuesday January 14, from 2pm to 8pm in the Menlo Park Hotel. The results of the questionnaire will be on display and a city council area plan team will be available to meet the public.

Consultation will be ongoing during the plan preparation process. Those with queries should contact the Planning Department through 091 - 536410 or [email protected]
