Three Galway bands - one venue

CITÓG RECORDS present Harrison & The Devil, The Depravations, and Fellow Strangers in the Róisín Dubh tonight from 10pm.

Citóg Records is an independent Galway label, established in 2013, which evolved out of the long running original night Citóg which takes place every Wednesday in The Cellar Bar.

Harrison & Devil (pictured above ) will play song from their recently released debut EP, Cat Matters. Their sweet-hearted murder ballads draw on a sonic mix of Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Supergrass, and early Sabbath.

The EP has received critical praise, with The Daily Shift calling it “smooth, energetic, mellow, and fulfils that need for loud, distorted guitar noises”; while Golden Plec declaring it a “late contender to wedge its way onto the end of year Best Of lists”.

Galway Indie/folk/pop quintet The Depravations have played HWCH three years in a row, the Whelan’s Ones To Watch Festival 2012, the Hotpress Jagermeister Freezer Sessions, and the Other Voices Music Trail in Derry.

Inspired by Mumford & Sons, Josh Ritter and The Dubliners, Fellow Strangers have a classic style infused with their own modern twist.

Admission is free. See citogrecords.tumblr.com/
