Launch of a mystical journey

ONE WOMAN’S journey of self-discovery through mystical practices and ancient rites takes her on an adventure she could never have foreseen.

This is the essence of People Of The Great Journey by OR Melling, published by Hay House, which will be launched in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop tomorrow at 6.30pm, by Prof Dáibhí Ó Cróinín of the NUI Galway history department.

Olwen Mellory goes on a week-long retreat on a remote Scottish island, but within hours of arriving at the imposing Dunesfort House, Olwen’s adventure takes an unexpected turn. Her daytime explorations of mystical practices are paired with night-time dreams and phantasms that blur the line between the real and the imaginary and Olwen begins to wonder who she can trust.

The book has already met with praise, Carlo Gebler calling it “innovative, ambitious, and courageous”.

There will be wine, homemade Clare wine, and mediaeval music. All are welcome. See www.ormelling.com
