Free creative writing workshops for primary schools in Tuam wil begin next week following a collaboration between Fighting Words and the Cinemobile.
The Galway Rural Development has funded these workshops to assist pupils in developing their writing skills and encourage a love of writing.
Fighting Words is a creative writing centre based in Dublin, established by Booker Prize winner Roddy Doyle and Sean Love. Cinemobile has already completed a series of projects with Fighting Words across Ireland.
After the workshop pupils’ stories and illustrations are bound, and each child receives a copy of the book to take home. Every book is personalised with a photo of the student on the back cover and the stories are all published on www.fightingwords.ie
