Ireland’s oldest children's charity the ISPCC has launched its Holly Bake fundraiser sponsored by Betty Crocker.
The charity is encouraging people nationwide, young and old, to bake a Christmas cake, a festive cupcake, or a yuletide biscuit to help raise funds to ensure that the Childline service can continue to answer children's calls this Christmas.
On Christmas Day 2012, ISPCC Childline volunteers answered 1,200 calls and texts and this year the charity expects this figure to increase.
Ashley Balbirnie, CEO of ISPCC said: "Due to a lack of funding Childline is unable to answer one in every three calls and on Christmas Day above all days we want to be able to answer every call that is made to Childline.”
The Holly Bake fundraiser will enable the ISPCC to continue to help every child who has the courage to reach out to the charity. The fundraiser is supported by the Betty Crocker brand which has donated vouchers to each of the Holly Bake packs.
