Music from another room

“I WILL sit right down, waiting for the gift of sound and vision,” David Bowie declared on his 1976 single ‘Sound + Vision’, and Galway audiences are about to do the same.

Minus 3, a music, sound, and visual happening, presented by the Galway Music Residency and New Music:New Audiences, takes place in the Galway City Museum this Saturday at 2.30pm.

The show will involve the ConTempo Quartet performing ‘Alveoles’, by Latvian composer Santa Ratniece; with visual projections by Mihai Cucu, and sound by Darby Carroll.

The four members of ConTempo will play in different rooms on different levels of the museum. The audience will walk around the museum watching a Minus 3 quartet (individual quartet members playing solo ) and hearing a full quartet piece from both the solo live musician and through speakers playing a pre-recorded tape.

All are welcome to the event.
