Last weekend of TULCA events

THIS IS the last weekend of the TULCA Festival of Visual Art in Galway city, which means there is still time to explore the wealth of creative and imaginative exhibitions on display.

Still, We Work, exploring ideas around women in employment, is at the 126 Gallery, Flood Street. One of the pieces, an installation by Vagabond Reviews (artist Ailbhe Murphy and researcher Ciaran Smyth ), brings together more than 30 testimonies, 250 words long, about women who assist people in fundamental ways. The installation, called The (In )visible Labour Factorium, draws on stories told at workshops held across the State with members of organisations affiliated to the National Women’s Council of Ireland.

The Fugitive Papers Slow Visibility event takes place this Saturday from 2pm to 6pm in the Nuns Island Theatre. TULCA will celebrate its closing weekend with festival sponsors the Bierhaus at 9pm on Sunday. See www.Tulcafestival.com
