Cúirt New Writing Prize 2014

The Cúirt New Writing Prize 2014 is open for submissions in poetry and fiction from Thursday November 28.

There is a €500 cash prize for the winner in each category. The winners will be published in a Cúirt publication to be launched at the 2014 festival. The judges are poet Martin Dyar and fiction writer Mary Costello.

There will also be a youth strand this year in poetry and fiction. The winner will receive €100 cash prize. They will also be published in the Cúirt publication and read at the 2014 Cúirt labs.

The guidelines for adult and youth submissions are: poetry entries must consist of three poems under 50 words each, and fiction pieces may be up to 2,000 words. Entries can be in English or Irish.

A €10 entry fee applies which can be paid via the paypal button at www.cuirt.ie, or sent using a postal order or bank draft to: Cúirt International Festival of Literature, Galway Arts Centre, 47 Dominick Street, Galway. When emailing submissions, specify how you have paid the fee. In the case of paypal payments, include a scanned copy of your paypal receipt in the email.

Entries should be sent via email to [email protected]. The closing date for submissions is January 30 at 5pm.
