A Band Called Wanda to headline charity gig

THE BRILLIANT Galway ‘folk’n’roll’ group A Band Called Wanda, will headline a charity concert in Kelly’s Bar, Bridge Street, tomorrow at 9pm, in aid of Galway Hospice.

Also on the bill are rockers Friendly Persuasion, indie-folk/grunge duo Music for Dead Birds, Jamaican style rapper Benjamin Davis, and free-spirit-punk band Blu Loves Milo. There will be a DJ spinning indie, electro, and soul afterwards.

The event is organised by GTI sound production course students, Dylan Connolly, Conor Weston, Eóghan Walsh, and Michelle Burke.

“My sister-in-law Fiona sadly passed away from cancer two years ago,” says Michelle. “While she was very sick the Galway Hospice helped to care for her. I want to help highlight just how important they are and the amazing work they do.”

Raffle tickets can be bought on the night for prizes including a dinner for two in Lime Restaurant, a €100 voucher for the Kilkenny Shop, or a €65 voucher for Divinity Complementary Health.

Admission is €5.
