BAILE AN SALSA, the Galway based, international band, who excitingly fuse Irish trad with Latin American music, celebrate their first birthday this weekend.
The 10 member band, who recently appeared on The Late Late Show, play Monroe’s Live this Saturday at 9pm.
The band perform original material in a trad style. Andres Martorell, the lead vocalist and founder, brings melodies from various styles including salsa, rumba, flamenco, and sean nós.
Over the past 12 months the band have released a debut EP - which charted at No 2 in Colombia recently; Radio PIN (Poland ) featured one track as its Song of the Week. The EP also won notice in Australia and Asia, where Baile an Salsa songs have been played at Salsa Festivals in Singapore and China. The band are working on their debut album.
