Kerrigan’s Londis has a reputation for quality customer service, excellent value, and a deep connection to its local community in Kilcolgan and its surroundings.
Established in 2008 by owner and proprietor Mike Kerrigan, the store is celebrating five successful years in business on Main Street in Kilcolgan this month. A mechanic by trade originally, Mr Kerrigan’s interest in retail began gradually over the years culminating in the opening of his first store in Kilcolgan in 2004. After the success of that venture, he worked up to establishing the current Londis store four years later.
Kerrgian’s Londis employs 21 dedicated staff members in all, 13 of whom have been with the business since its opening. Since then the store has grown to become a necessary part of the local community. Alongside its comprehensive grocery selection and its excellent choice of wines, it has its own family run butchers counter in store, McLoughlin’s Butchers, which employs three staff and sources its meat fresh from its own local farm. Kerrigan’s provides great deals across the store, with promotions available regularly.
Kerrigan’s Londis is also the biggest solid fuel merchant in the locality providing excellent value and living by the motto, ‘If you want a quality deal, give Mike a ring.’
Kerrigan’s Londis has always had a deep connection to its local customers and communities and has been actively involved in many different sports clubs and community organisations. Since 2009, the store has been one of the main sponsors of the Clarinbridge Oyster Festival. The business is located on the border of three parishes and therefore three parish GAA clubs; Clarinbridge, Ardrahan, and Ballinderreen. For the past few years, the store has provided support and various sponsorships throughout the junior to senior levels of these clubs.
Kerrigan’s provides support to several other local organisations including the Maree Musical Society, Titans Basketball Club, the Kilcornan Community Development Association, and the Clarinbridge Community Alert neighbourhood watch. The store also provides support to local schools such as Kilcolgan Educate Together, Clarinbridge NS, Killeeneen NS, Labane NS, Kilternan NS, and Ballyglass NS.
