Philippines Disaster Fund raises €3,023 at local craft and trade fair

Visiters to the local craft and trade fair held at the Black Box last weekend made a contribution of €3,025 to the Philippines Disaster Fund.

The donation fund was organised by City Mayor Pádraig Conneely and the trade fair was co-ordinated by the City and County Enterprise Board.

Mayor Conneely this week paid tribute to the generousity of the people of Galway who contributed €3,025 to the Disaster Fund over the two-day event. The mayor thanked the chief executive officer of the City and County Enterprise Board, Breda Foxe, for allowing the Philippines community based in Galway to take up the collection at the trade fair.

Other fundraising events have been taking place throughout the city this week to raise funds for the victims of the flood disaster
