Two local rugby teams are appealing for help in their bid to come face-to-face with sporting legends, after being shortlisted in a national competition.
Creggs RFC and the Loughrea Tigers are two of 40 teams to be shortlisted in the annual grassroots campaign, run by home appliance brand, AEG.
Now the two clubs are looking for votes on the AEG Facebook page to win the ultimate sporting prize – hosting a ‘Best Seats in the House’ event where two rugby legends will provide live commentary of an international game.
One hundred specially invited guests will enjoy refreshments during the game, and get the chance to pose their own questions to the professionals.
Club supporters will have until Friday December 13 to register their vote.
England rugby star and commentator Will Greenwood said: “The AEG grassroots campaign is a vital helping hand for rugby kit and equipment. The shortlisted clubs have done brilliantly to get this far – but now they are wholly dependent on their local community casting their vote.”
