Fundraising Ireland, the organisation set up to develop and improve professionalism in charity fundraising will be holding a half day seminar in Galway on Wednesday November 27.
Titled Donor Management and Retention, this seminar will look at donor relations, analysing real Irish data on regular donor cancellations and exploring ideas of how these can be improved upon. This event will be hugely informative and insightful for charity organisations both big and small and those engaged in professional fundraising within the community.
Professionalism and transparency in charity fundraising activities has never been more important. All charities are looking for the most cost effective, and ethical ways to running their organisation and this talk aims to equip them with the most current and up-to-date knowledge in the fundraising sector.
Organised by Fundraising Ireland Western Branch, the seminar will be led by fundraising expert Simon Scriver of Total Fundraising. ‘Looking after your regular donors is the most cost-effective and reliable source of unrestricted funds for your organisation. These donors allow you to plan and invest long-term as you receive a steady income of donations with minimum administration’ commented Mr Scriver. ‘Managing relationships with existing donors is almost always more cost-effective than recruiting new donors, and yet donor care is often neglected’ he added.
The half day seminar costs €85 for non-members and €65 for members of Fundraising Ireland and will take place in Croí House, Newcastle, Galway from 9.30am to 1pm. There is an additional early-bird discount of 15 per cent for all those who register before November 20. Places are limited and must be booked in advance at www.fundraisingireland.ie or by calling Justin McDermott on 083 1051576.
