Lisdonagh House, Caherlistrane is the venue for a unique and magical Christmas market experience on Sunday November 17.
The market is open from 12noon to 5pm. Go and spend an enjoyable afternoon in this Georgian heritage house and gardens beautifully situated on the shores on Lough Hackett.
The market will offer a wide variety of quality goods — crafts and jewellery, books and bric-a-brac, home baking and hot food.
In addition local small businesses will have an opportunity to promote their products and services. This could be your chance to pick up some Christmas gifts for family and friends.
A number of activities will take place within the house — cake decorating, Christmas flower arranging and a talk at 4pm on the rich heritage of the local area and in particular the house itself.
Eva O’Flaherty (a cousin of Eva of the Nation ) was born here . She founded the Achill Knitting Industry and ScoilAcla which endures annually.
There will be lots to keep the children occupied – pony rides, face painting and storytelling with Mrs Claus. They can try their hands at some arts and crafts or write their letters to Santa! There will also be musical entertainment in the drawing room. Weather permitting there will be a treasure hunt in the grounds of the house.
So wrap up warm and get out and enjoy the ambience of this charming manor house. You can be assured of a warm welcome from hosts John and Finola Cooke while supporting the local community.
