Double win for local Galway city stores in National Daybreak Competition

Arthur and Bernadette McGuire’s Daybreak in Raven Terrace and Jason Henchy’s Daybreak in Eyre Square were both proud winners at the 2013 Daybreak Store of the Year awards, which were held in Druids Glen Resort, in Co Wicklow.

Arthur and Bernadette and their team won the Best Wine Category award for the third year in a row. The store offers an extensive wine and off licence range and ensure they go the extra mile to cater to their customers’ needs and provide the best tips on what compliments each wine they stock.

After winning the award Mr McGuire said ‘Winning this award for the third year in a row underpins the hard work and dedication our team provide every day to our customers. It also helps to establish our wine offer as being the one of the best offerings locally.”

Henchy’s Daybreak was announced as the winner of the 2013 ‘Best Hot Beverage to Go’ award for their outstanding standards and quality upheld at their in-store coffee dock. The store has a full range of fresh bean to cup 100 per cent Arabica coffee, including latte and cappuccino, and fresh tea to go. The store has built up a strong reputation locally for top quality and best value coffee to go, with a 12oz coffee costing only €1.

Speaking at the awards ceremony Jason Henchy said that winning an award again in the annual Daybreak store of the year awards is a testament to the focus the staff in Eyre Square put on top quality products and excellent customer service.
