A NEW book on stone circles in Ireland will be launched this evening at 6pm, by filmmaker, writer, and photographer Bob Quinn, in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop, Middle Street.
The Sun Circles of Ireland by Jack Roberts, published by Bandia Publishing, is an essential guide to the stone circles of Ireland and contains an all-round account of the known circles, a guide to the regional variations, the main concentrations and location details of the majority of the circles, which date from the late Neolithic and early Bronze Age.
An author, illustrator, and researcher, Roberts other books include The Sacred Mythological Centres of Ireland and The Sheela-na-gigs of Britain and Ireland.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
