‘Grey’ — Little Greene’s definitive paint chart for this year’s must-have colour

Once again Little Greene has its finger on the pulse of fashion with its latest capsule paint collection: the simply but unequivocally named ‘Grey’.

Presenting four variations of this totally on-trend colour, each in seven degrees of intensity, the collection channels the decade’s hottest (or perhaps that should be coolest ) look. The colour grey has been at the root of historical decoration for centuries and, even now, remains a timeless staple. It is a signature shade for the most sophisticated interior design, working equally effectively in a classic or contemporary setting.

Little Greene’s ‘Grey’ represents a proven palette of graduated greys, which have been formulated using four naturally- occurring pigments as standard: verdigris, umber, ochre and red oxide. These pigments have, for many centuries, been used to create harmonious, balanced and tranquil interiors.

The collection embraces shades of grey from the palest, almost white, tones through to charcoal, brown and blue-black hues. As always, the colours are evocatively named: Wood Ash, Down, Ceviche, Rubine Ashes, Cool Arbour, Scree, Furrow, Toad and Chimney Brick, to name but a few!

In keeping with Little Greene’s quality-assurance, all 28 shades on the ‘Grey’ colour card are available in the full range of traditional and modern paint finishes. Moreover, the ‘flying chips’ on the hand-finished colour card are accurate samples of both colour and finish, being made from actual paint direct from a tin of environmentally-friendly Absolute Matt Emulsion rather than in a factory-matched ink.
