The Anti-Austerity Alliance, which is running two candidates in Galway city in next year’s local elections, is to hold a public meeting entitled Building The Alternative.
The meeting, which takes place in The Western Hotel, Prospect Hill, on Thursday November 7 at 8pm, will be addressed by Socialist Party TD Joe Higgins.
Dep Higgins will discuss the building of a new political force to take on the austerity parties; the recent Budget cuts; and the alternative to attacking vulnerable sectors of society, such as the elderly, the deaf, and young people.
“The purpose of the Anti-Austerity Alliance,” said Tommy Holohan, AAA candidate for Galway City West, “is to give people the opportunity to fight with candidates that are committed to an alternative to the right wing parties who are all lap dogs for the interests of the bankers and rich elites.”
