The Croí Heart & Stroke Centre at Moyola Lane, Newcastle, Galway which was officially opened by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD in November last year, has been lauded as a European leader in Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention by one of Europe’s leading heart experts, Prof David Wood.
Prof Wood who is the Garfield Weston Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the International Centre for Circulatory Health, National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist to Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust was in Galway this week to give a Medical Grand Rounds Lecture at Galway University Hospital.
While in Galway, Prof Wood visited the Croí Heart & Stroke Centre which he described as a national and a European ‘exemplar’ of the future direction of preventive cardiology.Programmes,
