Galway Sings Gospel for charity

GALWAY SINGS Gospel, a special concert fof gospel songs favoured by Elvis, will be held to raise funds for the Manuela Riedo Foundation.

More than 200 singers from Galway city choirs will sing in Renmore Church on Saturday November 9 and in Knocknacarra Church on Sunday 10. Both shows are at 7.30pm.

Choirs taking part include The Galway Gospel Choir, Ignite Gospel Choir, Schola Cantorum from St Nicholas’, The Marine Institute Choir, Tin Pan Alley, and the Something To Sing About cancer survivors choir.

Some 100 Galway teens, from the Jes, Presentation, St Enda’s, and Taylor’s Hill, will take part, as a combined secondary school choir. Music will be performed by John Cassidy and the Memphis Cats.

Galway Sings Gospel will raise money to reduce the Galway Rape Crisis counselling waiting list and also fund a child advocacy project for the Child and Adolescent Sexual Assault Treatment Unit Ireland West.
