Dott to release debut album next week

SWOON, THE debut album from Galway indie band Dott will be launched at a gig in the Róisín Dubh on Saturday November 9 at 9pm.

The 12 track album will be released on November 5 on US label Graveface Records (www.graveface.com ). The band - Anna McCarthy (vocals/guitar/songwriter ), Laura Finnegan (bass/vocals ), Miriam Donohue (guitar/vocals ), and Tony Higgins (drums ) - have impressed with their sweet yet gritty sound that mixes indie pop melodies, sixties styled vocal harmonies, and heavy garage rock/alternative rock guitar.

The album features new recordings of ‘Leave Tonight’ and ‘Cherry Blossom’, which previously appeared on the band’s debut EP Button, as well as live favourites like ‘Day That I Found You’ and ‘Start All Over’.

Dott have already enjoyed critical acclaim for their music with The Irish Times praising their “sunny garage rock with dash, shizzle and superfly choruses”; while State Magazine said, “They’re the kind of band that listeners want to claim rights to having been first to fall for their quirky charm. The stratosphere beckons.”

Support on the night for the Róisín Dubh launch gig are Tuam punk rockers Oh Boland and Voids. Admission is free.
