Digestive health clinic comes to Galway

One in three Irish people experience digestive problems regularly, including heartburn, indigestion, bloating, wind, belching, low energy, and poor concentration.

According to Dr Dilis Clare, who is a GP and medical herbalist: “Your digestion is the core of your health. If your digestion is poor, your overall health suffers, so it is important to ensure your digestion works properly.”

Food can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.

Because herbal medicines are helpful food, Dr Clare has launched a digestive clinic along with nutritionist and masterchef Tara Canning.

The programme includes IGE food intolerance testing, general blood tests, a coeliac test, and vitamin D test if indicated. The clinic also includes a consultation with the medical herbalist, two consultations with a nutritionist, practical life advice, shopping lists, and cooking tips. Appropriate herbs and which supplements to take will also be recommended at the clinic.

Martin Healy, author of Cure Your Allergies and Food Intolerance and director of the Fitzwilliam Clinic, will launch the digestive clinic at Health and Herbs on Sea Road on Tuesday October 22 at 7.30 pm.

The event will be informative, offering general tips on digestive health and wellbeing. There will gluten free snacks and refreshments on the night. The event is free of charge and open to all members of the public. For further information contact Health and Herbs on 091 583260 or Tara Canning on 087 9074701, or email [email protected]
