Sports clubs, voluntary organisations, and community groups in Galway county and city are being encouraged to apply for National Lottery Grants.
Funding of up to €15,000 is available for once-off projects including equipment for youth clubs, youth cafes, sports clubs, Scouts, summer camps, day trips for youth clubs, and play equipment for playschools.
Priority will be given to projects which involve culture, play and recreation, children and youth led initiatives and vulnerable or hard to reach children and young people.
Full information and application forms for these grants is available at www.dcya.gov.ie and the deadline for making an application is Friday October 18 at 12.30pm.
Independent Galway West TD Noel Grealish is calling on groups to make an application.
“Given the current economic climate,” he said, “fundraising for specific projects is very difficult and I would encourage any clubs trying to raise funds to consider applying for these National Lottery Grants.”
