With the help of trained volunteers, Positive Mental Health attend secondary schools throughout Galway City and County, Counties Clare, Sligo and Offaly delivering workshops to transition year students on a variety of modules on attitudes and lifestyle choices which affect mental health.

“The main issues are not much different from what we encountered when we started, eight years ago - self-image, binge drinking, peer pressure, exam stress, choosing the right friends and psychological wellbeing. We are, above all, about prevention, intervention and inclusion,” said a spokesperson.

The car boot sale event coincides with World Mental Health Day today (October 10 ) which is annually celebrated as a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy.
