KBC Bank Ireland this week opened its newest retail banking hub on Eyre Square in Galway City. The new KBC Bank hub is the latest in a scheduled eight branch expansion taking place across Ireland over the coming 18 months. The introduction of this new KBC hub will herald an exciting new form of banking for the people of Galway.
The new hub is a departure from the ‘high countered environment’ commonly associated with traditional branch banking, which has been replaced with a more informal, relaxed meeting space where customers can interact with KBC’s personal finance experts on a range of competitive products including savings, insurance, mortgages, and the recently launched current account. The retail hub will be managed by Keith McDonagh who will oversee the team. KBC’s office on Dock Road will remain open for corporate banking customers.
The new hub will open from Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 5.30pm, with late opening on Thursdays (until 7.00pm ) to facilitate customers and their busy schedules. This latest hub opening follows the opening of retail banking hubs in Dublin, Cork and Limerick earlier this year. As part of the current account launch KBC is also running a current account student promotion, with €100 One4All vouchers for students opening an account for a limited time.
Discussing the opening, Dara Deering, Executive Director and Head of Retail Banking, KBC Bank Ireland, commented “We are extremely excited with KBC’s first ever retail banking hub opening today at a great location on Eyre Square. We’ve had a fantastic response to our new hubs in Dublin, Cork and Limerick, and we are now looking forward to welcoming customers to a new way of banking in Galway City. Galway is a thriving city with a vibrant population, and one that we feel is a perfect fit with the KBC brand. We are building on our long standing commitment to the city and bringing greater choice and value to the people of Galway.”
