Free gigs in the Latin Quarter

FOUR NIGHTS of free gigs take place in Galway city’s Latin Quarter, from tonight until Sunday, for the Guinness Live music festival.

The event begins today and throughout there will be more than 40 live shows featuring local, national, and international acts.

The line up is Kila, with support from Baile an Salsa (The Quays, this evening from 6pm ); Oddsocks (Busker Brownes, this evening, 7.30pm ); The Complete Stone Roses (The King’s Head, tonight, 10pm ); DJ Set with Terri Hooley (subject of the film Good Vibrations ), followed by DJ set with Snow Patrol’s Nathan Connolly and Jimmy Symington (The King’s Head, tomorrow, from 9.30pm ); Hermitage Green with support from This Club (The Quays, tomorrow from 8pm ); Wallis Bird and Ocean Colour Scene’s Oscar and Simon (The Quays, Saturday, 8pm ); and BiPolar Empire (The King’s Head, Saturday, 9pm ).

Also watch out for great Galway bands and DJs throughout the festival. Admission to all gigs is free and on a first-come, first-served basis. All events are over 18s. See www.thelatinquarter.ie
