Tig Cóilí presents Cherish The Ladies at the Town Hall

IT IS simply impossible to imagine an audience that wouldn’t enjoy what they do,” said The Boston Globe about Cherish The Ladies who play Galway next week.

Cherish The Ladies play a ‘Tig Cóilí presents...’ concert in the Town Hall Theatre on Thursday October 4 at 8pm. Galway audiences are in for a first-class show from this long running and acclaimed Irish and American trad/folk quintet.

As The Belfast Telegraph said: “These ladies dust the perceived cobwebs off traditional music by presenting it in a new light, with a mixture of first class ‘kick-ass’ playing, sensational singing, dynamic dancing, and infectious humour.”

The band - Joaine Madden, Mary Coogan, Mirella Murray, Grainne Murphy, Kathleen Boyle - have played across the globe and won numerous awards, such as Best Musical Group of the Year by the BBC, Top North American Celtic Group at the Irish Music Awards, Entertainment Group of the Year by The Irish Voice, and in 2010 the band saw the erection of a permanent street sign on the Grand Concourse in the Bronx, New York, named ‘Joanie Madden and Cherish the Ladies’.

For their Town Hall show, Cherish The Ladies will be joined by Don Stiffe, Joe and Anne Burke, Mary Bergin, Johnny ‘Ringo’ McDonagh, Matt Keane, Nollaig Casey, Ronan O’Flaherty, Cathie Ryan, Declan McHale, and Nathan Pilatzke.

Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 or www.tht.ie
