Social dancing is becoming increasingly popular because it gives people an opportunity to socialise, enjoy great live music or to just take time out to relax.
The HSE’s health promotion service together with a number of voluntary groups has organised Sunday afternoon tea dance parties at the Claregalway Hotel starting on Sunday September 29 and running every Sunday from 3pm to 6pm until the end of April.
Regular dance goers are vocal in their praise for the event. One said she found that social dancing gave her “great energy for life” and “a chance to socialise and make new friends”.
Refreshments, including tea, coffee, warm scones, jam and cream is served mid-afternoon.
Coming attractions will include:
September 29 - Outback
October 6 - Top Level Joe
October 13 - Cahir Sound
Admission on the door is €7 and the proceeds go to the running costs. For more information telephone Pat at (091 ) 798457.
