One-off grants are available to Galway city and county community groups and voluntary organisations, but applications need to made as soon as possible.
The Department of Children and Youth Affairs has a National Lottery Discretionary fund to provide one-off grants to community groups and voluntary organisations involved in children and youth services.
This year the scheme is targeting small scale projects and the level of grant awarded will be for an amount less than €15,000. Labour city councillor Niall McNelis is appealing to all such groups across Galway to make an application. Priority will be given to projects and activities that involve: culture, play, and recreation; children and youth led initiatives; and vulnerable or hard to reach children and young people
Applications must be sent to the Department of Children and Youth Affairs clearly marked ‘National Lottery Grants’. The closing date is 12.30pm on Friday October 18.
