A public meeting on crime prevention is being organised in the Knocknacarra Community Centre on Thursday September 26 at 8pm.
The meeting will be attended by Galway City West - Independents Catherine Connolly and Donal Lyons, Fianna Fáil’s Peter Keane, and Labour’s Niall McNelis.
Supt Noel Kelly from Salthill Garda Station and also crime prevention officer, Sgt Pat Flannigan, will also attend. The meeting will be chaired by the Mayor of Galway city Pádraig Connelly, who is also chair of the city Joint Policing Committee.
“With the dark evenings fast approaching concerns have been raised about local crime,” said Cllr McNelis. “All councillors agreed such an information evening would help make homes more secure and highlight ways to keep personal belongings and property safe.”
