Foodies flock to Galway for Oyster Festival seafood trail

Seafood lovers are in for a treat as the city of the Tribes ‘Seafood Trail’ comes alive as part of the 59th Galway International Oyster and Seafood Festival.

A selection of Galway’s most renowned eateries have partnered with Ireland’s longest running food festival and will be serving the freshest of Galway oysters and seafood creations throughout the weekend including; Restaurant gigi’s at the g Hotel, RAW Sushi at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Oyster Grill Restaurant at Hotel Meyrick, Harbour Bar & Grill, WA Café, Brasserie on the Corner, Cookes Restaurant, Upstairs @ McCambridges, Cava Bodega, Artisan Restaurant, Martine’s on Quay Street, McDonagh’s Seafood House, Creole Restaurant, Oscars Seafood Bistro and West @ The Twelve.

For oyster connoisseurs to bivalve virgins, it’s the perfect opportunity to savour the speciality shellfish and West of Ireland produce. And where better than to sample seafood than Galway city as the cold, clean waters off Ireland's west coast are renowned for producing some of the best oysters and seafood in the world.

A jam-packed weekend of culinary fun takes places at the Festival Marquee located on the Galway Docks. Sample the seafood delights of the Food Village, tantalise your tastebuds with cookery talks and tastings, showcases by celebrity chefs including Michelin star Kevin Thornton, oyster opening competitions, along with live entertainment and Tribal Oyster Feast Off – fun oyster eating competition for all ages.
