Hedging to be cut back on Renmore railway line wall

Overgrown hedging and trees along the railway line wall in Renmore will be trimmed back according to Independent city councillor Terry O’Flaherty.

According to the councillor, the hedging on the embankment has grown to the point that it is restricting the view of Galway Bay and the rapidly growing trees are also seen as a hazard to the railway line.

Following representations from Cllr O’Flaherty, Irish Rail has agreed to trim back the hedges along the route.

“This is good news, particularly for the residents facing Hawthorn Drive and Lisbeg Lawn,” she said. “The residents would like to thank Irish Rail for taking my representations on board to carryout these works.”
