Over 50s lifestyle show set for Salthill

The lifestyle event for people who are retired or are about to retire is coming to Galway.

The Senior Times Over 50s Show,will take place at the Salthill Hotel, Galway, for two days - on Sunday September 1 and Monday September 2.

The event features a mix of displays, presentations and demonstrations, covering many of the needs, interests and concerns of the over 50s.

Gardening guru Gerry Daly will be giving daily gardening clinics, while there will be DIY demos from B&Q, free wine tastings, set dancing sessions, and bridge tuition. Mike Kelly, known to many from his regular appearances on radio, will be giving coin and stamp valuations. Even the Revenue Commissioners will be on hand to offer advice.

Health, as usual, will figure prominently, with hearing and eye tests available. Also on offer will be pulse and blood pressure checks and a talk from herbalist Dr Dilis Clare on ‘Herbs the Medicines of the Past, Present and Future’.

All visitors will also receive a free copy of the September issue of Senior Times magazine, an 80 page glossy magazine packed full of ideas for the young at heart.

The Senior Times Over 50s Show takes place from 12 noon until 7pm on Sunday and from 11am to 5pm on Monday. Normal admission is €5 but free tickets are available by emailing [email protected] or calling 01 496 9028.
