Fundraising day for Ché Kinvara charity at Burren Nature Sanctuary

The Burren Nature Sanctuary will hold a fundraising day this Sunday with all proceeds going to the Ché Kinvara charity.

Ché O’Grady is an 11-year-old boy from Kinvara who has cerebral palsy and whose mother requires specialised equipment as she can no longer lift him in and out of the family car. Ché needs an autoadapt corony system from Parfit Motors and the total cost of the car conversion, and installation, is expected to come to around €4,000.

The event, which takes place a the Burren Nature Sanctuary located at Cloonasee Organic Farm, Cloonasee, Kinvara, from 11am to 6pm, promises to be a fun filled family open day.

Organisers of the event say that Ché needs the support of his friends and community as the Government seems to not care about or support people with disabilities, or their families, saying: “but we, the people, can still make a difference”.

In addition to all the facilities at the Burren Nature Sanctuary including an exciting zip wire ride, adventure playground, indoor wavy slide and nature walks, organisors will erect a marquee which will house hourly workshops to include children’s yoga, dance, drama, tai chi, face painting, storytelling, and lots more. There will also be musical entertainment provided by Jim McKee, nature walks led by Eugene Lamb, followed by a delicious lemon cake that will be on offer at the Burren Nature Sanctuary cafe.

All activities, workshops, and entertainment will be provided in return for a minimum donation of €5 per person at the door which will go straight to the Ché Kinvara charity
