The first annual Corribdale Duathlon will take place on Saturday in Oughterard Co Galway.
The event is a mix of cycling and running with participants competing in a 4km run before tackling a13km cycle and finishing with a 2km run.
Triathletes, cyclists and runners are expeccted to take part, but the event is open to anyone who would like the challenge.
The first 4km leg starts at the race headquarters at the Oughterard GAA Club before taking participants around the town via Camp Street. On return to the GAA club participants will change to their bikes and cycle a 13km course on the N59. The final leg is a 2km dash around the Owenriff Rver and back to the town.
In addition to individual entries, teams are also welcome, while Trisha Streiloff of Thera Fitness will be offering free rub downs after the competition.
The Corribdale Duathlon is a joint effort by the Corribdale Project, Corrib Athletic Club and RAS Chonamara to raise funds for the Corribdale Project - a sporting complex in the town.
Race entry is €20 per person for individual entries, €10 per person for a two person relay team, and €7 per person for a three-person team.
