Connemara sounds in An Taibhdhearc

SONGS, MUSIC, and sean nós dancing from singer-songwriter Don Stiffe and Carna’s Ó Iarnáin family, will form the core of the new Conamara sa Chathair shows.

Conamara sa Chathair/Connemara in the City takes place every Monday this month at 1pm and every Tuesday and Thursday at 8pm in An Taibhdhearc, Middle Street. The series launches this evening at 7.30pm, followed by the show.

The nights will be led by Bohermore singer-songwriter and guitarist Don Stiffe and flute player and flute maker Marcus Ó Iarnáin, along with the latter’s sons, Prionsias and Breandán, who are musicians and award winning sean-nós dancers.

Accompanying the performances will be video footage of Connemara by freelance cameraman Andrew Smyth, who was also visual director with the St Patrick’s Festival Galway in 2010 and 2011.
