Colm Quinn to expand BMW dealership to Galway

Colm Quinn will be bringing BMW back to Galway with a fully-fledged dealership in a prime location on the Tuam Road, at the Excelsior garage site.

Planning permission has been granted for the new dealership and building work is planned to start in September with completion scheduled for early 2014.

John Ives, managing director of BMW Ireland, says the new investment by Colm Quinn during a time of significant economic uncertainty is a vote of confidence in the BMW brand and builds on the success of his existing operation in Athlone.

Colm Quinn Galway will comprise an eight-car showroom, a 12-bay workshop, as well as more than 50 external used car display spaces. It will create a minimum of 25 new jobs in Galway when operational.

Colm Quinn Athlone is one of Ireland’s fastest growing BMW dealerships. It first opened its doors in 2009 and after four years has grown, now employing almost 50 people.

This year has been particularly rewarding for Colm Quinn which has won a number of high profile awards. The business has won both the SIMI Dealer of the Year 2013 and SIMI Retail Operation of the Year 2013, as well as being awarded BMW Financial Services Dealer of the Year. The dealership has been awarded Best Presented Business in Athlone from Athlone Tidy Towns Committee, while Colm Quinn has been awarded Manager of the Year 2012 in BMW’s International “Excellence in Sales” competition.

The team at Colm Quinn is now looking forward to opening the Galway dealership.
