Late point seals minor replay for Galway Ladies

Galway and Dublin minor ladies have to do it all again after Sunday’s All-Ireland ended level.

Ciana Ni Churraoin provided the game-saver at the end to force the replay which will take place on Wednesday week in Mullingar at 7pm.

Galway enjoyed a super start and had registered two goals - one apiece from Emma Reaney and Ciana Ni Churraoin - and two points before Dublin had registered a score.

The Tribesgirls continued to dominate the first half despite having two players yellow carded and went in at half time ahead by 3-05 to 0-5.

However Dublin’s resurgence started immediately after the restart when, having won a free, Leah Mullins fisted the ball into the Galway net.

Dublin continued to dominate and it was 11 minutes before Galway registered their first score when Olivia Divilly pointed from a free.

While Galway had trouble securing scores, Dublin continued to close the gap and received a lifeline in the 25th minute when Galway’s Emilie Gavin was red carded. Dublin scored two goals in as many minutes to take the lead for the first time.

However just when it looked all over for Galway, Ciana Ni Churraoin broke clear and scored a point to level the game, while Olivia Divilly was awarded the player of the match.
