THE TULCA Festival of Visual Art has made two new appointments and is seeking submissions for its 2013 festival which runs from November 8 to 24.
The festival has appointed Valerie Connor as this year’s curator, while Kate Howard has been named festival producer.
Valerie Connor is the curator of the National Women’s Council of Ireland’s Legacy Project and teaches on the photography BA at DIT. She has also been the commissioner for Ireland’s participation at the international art biennials in Venice and São Paulo; and the Arts Council’s visual arts adviser and a member of the board of IMMA. She is chair of the National Campaign for the Arts.
Kate Howard is a graduate of NUI Galway, Sligo IT, and GMIT. She is chair of Adapt Galway, constituency co-ordinator of the National Campaign for the Arts Galway, and acting producer of Arts in Action Creative Arts programme at NUIG.
Tulca 2013 Open Call
The deadline is fast approaching for submissions to TULCA 2013 - Monday August 5 at 12 noon - and is open to artists from Ireland and abroad.
The focus for TULCA 2013 is centred on ‘the practices and technologies of visionaries and dreamers, forecasting, prediction, foresight and data visualisation, old and new’.
To apply e-mail applications that include a concise artist’s statement, artist CV, Project proposal (must not exceed 500 words ), examples of previous work (no more that 10 images ). Videos to be sent as links to Youtube or similar (no more than two ). Proposals accepted by email only through [email protected]. Put TULCA OPEN SUBMISSION in the subject box
