Frankie Gavin & De Dannan - Galway Arts Festival concert

FRANKIE GAVIN & De Dannan will play one of the major concerts at this year’s Galway Arts Festival when they take to the stage of the Radisson Live Lounge tonight at 8pm.

Frankie is well known and celebrated as one of the finest traditional musicians in Ireland, whose fiddle playing has impressed musicians as diverse as Stéphane Grappelli and the Rolling Stones.

The line-up also includes vocalist Michelle Lally, who www.irishmusicmagazine.com said, has “the voice of an angel, and whose vast and varied repertoire is unequalled”; double bass player Paul O’Drisceoil from Kinvara, has performed with Riverdance, and is as skilled playing jazz as he is trad; guitarist Colm O’Caoimh; and accordionist player Barry Brady.

Special guests on the night will be Tom Byrne 9harmonica ), Carl Hession (piano ), and Sean and Noreen Gavin. Support is from The Cozy Cartel.
