City council launches wildlife photography competition

A wildlife photography competition has been launched by the Galway City Council as part of its Biodiversity Programme.

Photographers are invited to submit pictures capturing flora and fauna wildlife and habitats from across the city.

The two best entries and two runners up will be awarded vouchers from Fahy Foto and the Galway Camera Shop. Photos will also be published and credited in the new Galway City Biodiversity Action Plan, due to be published later this year. Every entrant published in the Plan will receive annual membership to the Irish Wildlife Trust.

A selection of entries will be exhibited in the city library on August 20.

All images must be submitted as JPEGs, saved at the highest quality level and must be at least 2400 pixels on the longest dimension. More than one entry may be submitted. Entries can be in portrait or landscape format. Email entries to [email protected] before August 9.
